Carmelo “Melito” Eleutiza was the former Head Volleyball & Softball Coach at Bluefield State College in West Virginia (NCAA Women’s Division II). Eleutiza brings over 25 years of coaching experience at the club and high school level along with the professional league in Puerto Rico. Carmelo started playing volleyball at the age of seven, and eventually played at the collegiate level with the Interamericana University in his homeland of Puerto Rico. He comes with a strong volleyball background including five U.S.A.V Junior Olympic in the 12U & 14U girls division with Arsel Volleyball Club and taking third place in the boy’s 16U Division at the Junior Olympic in Phoenix, AZ. Carmelo was the former head coach for the City of Toa Baja, P.R semi-professional volleyball team, where his team earned a 53-16 record in his first two years and an undefeated season in his third year along with claiming the semi- professional league championship. He then moved on to the professional ranks where he was an assistant coach for the Captains of Arecibo and Llaneras of Toa Baja in the Puerto Rico Girls Professional Volleyball League. Carmelo established Champions Volleyball Club in 2006 to 2008; was the Co-Director for Top Select Volleyball Academy and the Director for ARSEL Volleyball club in Puerto Rico. He returns to Orlando Volleyball Academy were he coached for two years and his 13U team took 5th place at the AAU National Championships and earned a bid to the Junior Olympics. Carmelo “Melito” Eleutiza holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education Teaching from Bayamon Central University of Puerto Rico.
